THE Association for the Advancement of Karatedo (AAK) Davao City Chapter bagged a total of 24 gold medals along with seven silver and two bronzes to close their campaign in the 2021 R2KO E-Kata and E-Fantom Kumite Championships, recently.
AAK Davao’s double-gold honor roll won in both E-Kata and E-Fantom Kumite in the tournament hosted by Region 2 and sanctioned by Karate Pilipinas Sports Federation via online saw Heleina So (8-9 years-old intermediate), Liam Japeth Lim (10-11 years-old novice), Jamie Danielle Nirza (14-15 years-old intermediate), Aldren Solon (16-17 years-old advance), Jared Dale Nirza (16-17 years-old intermediate), Jet Lu (12-13 years-old novice), Rhea Lu (12-13 years-old novice), Adrian Paul Ilaya (18 years-old -up advance), Robert Avancena (14-15 years-old intermediate) and Johanna Faye Lim.
Single gold winners were Zacchary Subang, Mariette Gubantes, Christopher Cagandahan and Harsimar Sing Toor.
Vryzyse Krebs finished with two silver performances for AAK Davao’s total of seven with one each from Stephen James Cartagena, John Philip Cagandahan, Tarnpreet Sing Gill, Avjannat Kaur and Mark Gil Yriarte while Ian Carlos Pascual and Stephen James Cartagena had bronze medals, respectively.
“I’m proud of the group’s performance. It’s a bit difficult for us doing online training and competitions but we have to go with the new normal format,” said AAK Davao chief instructor and Karate Pilipinas Sports Federation region XI director Rommel Tan.
