  • Police seize over P1.5 million in drugs, arrest six in 24-hour operation

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) confiscated over P1.4 million worth of illegal drugs, including a large haul of marijuana bricks, following a 24-hour anti-crime operation. 

Acting city director Col. Hansel Marantan said the police operations led to the arrest of six individuals, including two minors. 

He emphasized the DCPO’s ongoing commitment to combating the illegal drug trade. “With the invaluable support of the community, we are successfully conducting operations and apprehending those involved in this criminal activity,” he stated.

Six successful anti-drug operations were carried out by various police stations and the City Drug Enforcement Unit, resulting in the seizure of shabu and marijuana with a combined estimated street value of P1,520,411.20.

To break down: The PS18-Bajada seized marijuana bricks with an estimated street value of P1,440,000 and marijuana leaves valued at P57,660.

Also, the PS1-Sta Ana police station seized marijuana leaves with an estimated street value of P379.20; PS2-San Pedro confiscated shabu with an estimated street value of P2,992.00; PS4-Sasa recovered shabu with an estimated street value of P12,104.00; and PS5-Buhangin inventoried shabu with an estimated street value of P7,276.00.

“Illegal drugs are a major contributor to crime in various areas,” Marantan emphasized. “The DCPO will continue to conduct operations to ensure a safer environment for all Davaoeños..”
