Internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Marawi City underwent a special intervention program at the headquarters of the Task Force Davao.
The intervention was the second phase of the assistance provided by the military, with the cooperation of the Department of Labor and Employment, City Social Services and Development Office, Public Employment Service Office, and the city government of Davao.
The Kalilintad 911 Program was successfully launched last Oct. 2, 2019 with 159 IDPs from the Marawi Siege presently living in Davao City.
Mayor Sara Z. Duterte offered the Tupad program, which is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
The program serves as an assistance of the city government to the IDPs this Yuletide season. On Nov. 11, 2019, 109 beneficiaries attended the orientation to avail of the Tupad program. They were also given gift items from the city.
According to Col. Consolito P. Yecla, Task Force Davao commander, “Tupad program is part of Kalilintad 911 intended for the IDPs of Marawi Siege.”
“These ensure that the IDPs from Marawi will be given assistance to isolate them against the influence of terrorists, and for them to feel the program of the government,” Yecla said.
