KOJC compound returns to normal; police pulled out

AFTER 16 days of non-stop search, all police officers deployed to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound finally returned to barracks following the surrender of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Police Regional Office XI spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey said there are no more officers in the area and Gate 18 of the Kingdom entrance and the Emerald gate near Jose Maria College, where tensions often flared between the police and KOJC members, are now closed.

On Monday, the KOJC members started cleaning the property and the buildings used as quarters by the police.

KOJC members hoped that Pastor Quiboloy could obtain justice against the allegations hurled against him.

Since Aug. 24, the compound has been occupied by around 2,000 policemen from PRO XI, X, XII, and XIII who scoured the 30-hectare property for any sign of the televangelist. Quiboloy was wanted for child abuse and qualified trafficking charges.
