COTABATO CITY—The inauguration of KCC Mall of Cotabato marks a significant milestone in the economic growth of the Bangsamoro region, said Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua on Tuesday, emphasizing that the investment reflects growing confidence in the region’s stability and business potential.

“When peace and good governance are in place, development follows. Investors come in when they see stability, potential, and reliable services. That’s exactly what Cotabato City offers today, and we should all be proud,” Macacua stated.

He underscored that the mall’s opening is a shared victory for the Bangsamoro people, symbolizing growth and progress.

“The opening of KCC Mall of Cotabato is not just about a new building—it’s about opportunity, hope, and progress. This is a big win for the people,” he added.

The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to KCC for their trust in the Bangsamoro Government, stating that their confidence in the region will further inspire the administration to foster a business-friendly environment.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Pasigan, chairperson of the Bangsamoro Board of Investments (BBOI), hailed the opening of KCC Mall in Cotabato City, describing it as a welcome development that will not only boost the local economy but also generate a significant number of jobs for residents.

“It will have an encouraging effect on other investors,” Pasigan said, adding that some of KCC’s warehouses in Cotabato City have been registered with the BBOI.

Spanning 180,000 square meters, the newly inaugurated mall is the biggest in the KCC shopping chain, which started as a textile retail store in Koronadal City in 1947.

KCC has since expanded with branches in the cities of Koronadal, General Santos, and Zamboanga.

KCC Mall of Cotabato will officially open its doors to the public on Wednesday, April 2, and will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

It is expected to boost commerce, tourism, and employment in Cotabato City, further solidifying its position as a key economic hub in BARMM. (Aisah Abas/BIO)
