AUTHORITIES apprehended a top regional drug target in a buy-bust operation on Sunday, June 30.
The suspect, identified as alias Mahid, 27, a farmer from Lanao Del Sur, was arrested around 11:05 p.m. in Corner Marañon, Datu Luho, Barangay Ma-a.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office, confirmed that Mahid was considered a high-value individual and a top regional target.
The operation, led by Ma-a Drug Enforcement Team commander Major Kevin Lew Garing, resulted in the seizure of two knot-tied plastic sachets containing shabu with an estimated street value of P714,000.
Mahid allegedly sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover police officer for P35,000 during the sting operation.
He is currently in the custody of the Ma-a police station and will face a charge of violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
