Hedcor contributes P3.2-M shares to Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon

Manolo Fortich LGU plans to use the funds to boost public services, including healthcare in remote barangays, 
early childhood education, and public safety and security.

Hedcor, an AboitizPower renewable energy asset manager, continues to enhance the quality and accessibility of public services in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, with the release of over Php 3.2 million worth of community shares and ER 1-94 funds.

Hedcor contributed a total of  Php 1,586,231.90 community shares and  Php 1,632,331.76  ER 1-94 Fund from the operation of its two hydropower plants in Manolo Fortich from July to December 2023.

The ER 1-94 policy aims to benefit host communities through a one centavo per kilowatt-hour (Php 0.01/kWh) share in the total electricity sales of a power generating facility located within their locality.

The local government unit of Manolo Fortich plans to allocate the shares to priority projects aimed at widening access to healthcare services for remote barangays, enhancing support for early childhood education, and improving safety and security.

Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño highlighted the critical role of collaboration and the substantial impact Hedcor has had on the municipality. “Salamat kaayo Hedcor family because of the big amount nga madawat sa LGU. Salamat pud sa inyong tabang sa Manolo Fortich. Dako namo na nga damgo nga ang usa ka kumpanya nga ang iyang i-invest sa atong lungsod nakatabang sa atong mga kaigsoonan hilabina kadtong mga nanginahanglan.” (Thank you very much, Hedcor family, for the significant amount received by the LGU. Thank you also for your help to Manolo Fortich. It has been our great dream that a company investing in our town can assist our fellowmen, especially those in need.)

The funds will drive several impactful projects according to Mayor Quiño, including strengthening the municipality’s program to bring essential healthcare services to remote barangays, ensuring that even the most isolated residents receive medical attention. The funds will also provide necessary resources and support to enhance early childhood education, giving young children a strong start. Moreover, the LGU plans to install additional solar street lights to enhance safety and security by sustainably illuminating streets and public spaces.

During the 107th Charter Day celebration of Manolo Fortich, the LGU recognized Hedcor as one of the Top Taxpayers for 2023, commending its support for Manolo Fortich’s programs and contributions to the town’s progress and development.
