IN OUR fast-paced digital world, influencers have fundamentally become vital players in politics, especially when it comes to engaging with younger audiences who are most likely active with content on social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter.
This sense of connection not only draws younger audiences into political discussions but also encourages them to engage in civic activities.
With these influencers having millions of followers, they have the power to embody their knowledge and reach those individuals who struggle to understand.
By utilizing their platforms, influencers can clarify various elements of political procedures such as registering to vote, the importance of local elections, and crucial social matters like climate change, human rights, and economic disparity.
This approach not only helps to inform their audience but also empowers them by encouraging a sense of agency and responsibility for making societal improvements.
In this way, influencers served as a bridge of knowledge between the politics and the young audiences cultivating political engagement for citizenship among youth by providing accessible information, fostering community, advocating social issues, and mobilizing young individuals to participate in a democratic process.
Influencer impact can contribute to a more informed, active, and engaged generation in the Philippines’ political landscape.
