FORGED BY FRIENDSHIP RECOVERY GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

It’s all systems go for the year’s biggest Team golf championship in Davao City.

With over 10 million worth of Hole in One and raffle prizes at stake, the two day First Recovery Golf Championship will lead the festivities for the Kadayawan festival month of August for Davao City. The fabled Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and South Pacific Golf and Country club will serve as hosts for the golf festivities to be held on August 19 and 20,2023.

All Par 3s of the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and South Pacific Golf and Country Club are designated with varied Hole-in-One prizes. A Caterpillar Excavator worth P 4.5 Million, a brand new Mitsubishi Expander, Golf Carts, Honma Beres golf set and P 500,000 cash comprise the major items up for grabs for the hole-in-one. Multiple winners on a designated prize for a hole will share the prize equally.

This summer’s biggest golf spectacle is expecting to attract about 400 golfers to test their mettle and skills on this two-day tourney using the Molave Scoring System format.

“We dubbed this tournament as “Forged by Friendship, Recovery Championship,” says Engr. Ludwig Ledesma, Recovery 5:30 President and tournament overall chairman.” This ambitious tournament is envisioned by the club members to be known as the city’s biggest golf tournament of the year” he added.

Aside from the Team competition, there is also a separate category for individual winners where trophies await the champion, first runner up, and second runner-up. Each team will be composed of 4 players in which all the player’s scores will count” Ledesma added.

Teams will be ranked according to their team’s handicap average and grouped accordingly to the following distribution: Division A (Top 10 Teams); B (next 20 teams); Division C (next 25 teams); Division D (the rest of teams).

Team champions from Division A to D will earn a slot for the WAGC tournament qualifier- National Finals in Malarayat Golf and Country Club in September of which division winners will be sent to the World Amateur Golfers Championship in Phuket, Thailand on November 2023.

Current Professional Golfers, whether Touring or Teaching Professionals and current or former caddies are not allowed to play in the tournament.

All participants are entitled to a giveaway upon payment of the registration fee which is P 60,000 per team consisting of 4 players which includes the green fee, practice round, raffle entry, and dinner at the awarding ceremonies.
