Food and Wine fest set to exhibit in Davao City

THE DAVAO Food and Wine Festival will highlight culinary tourism and cuisines nationwide as it opens on Oct. 7 to 14 in Davao City.

The festival carries the theme, “Indulging in flavors, celebrating culture,” in partnership with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Agriculture.

Carmina del Rosario, Mindanao Butchers manager, said the event will not just utilize local ingredients but also serve as a platform for an exchange of talent, creativity, and bridging businesses together as it will involve stakeholders, and culinary exhibitors, and other private and public sectors.

“We are also working with the cacao people, the coffee people, we’re also bringing in Smeg (kitchen appliances), who has never been to Davao before, so it’s about finding a venue for them to come directly here,” Del Rosario said.

The week-long event will take place at multiple venues all around Davao and Samal.

The Grand Tasting opening event at Dusit Thani Davao on Oct. 7 will highlight Wine Fervent Flavors, featuring local and international chefs namely: David Thien, Lisa Revilla, Tippi Tambuting, Jorge Mendez, Marco Anzani, La Cabrera, Piya Suthasiri, and Joel Rodriguez.

The second event Boozy Brunch on Oct. 8 at Park Inn Radisson, Bar Takeover on Oct. 9 at Huckleberry or Bar Botanica, The Pasta Experience on Oct. 10 at Dusit Davao, and other expected series of events.

The series of events and booths will be open to the public.
