Fire hits different DC areas

Forty houses in Km. 11, Old Airport were razed by fire at 10:13 a.m. yesterday.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Ramil Gillado, the chief Investigator of the Bureau of Fire and Protection XI, said the point of origin was from the house owned by Sofia Siarot.

Firefighters declared a fire-out three hours later.

“The road leading to the area was quite narrow, and the houses are all lumped together, and they were made of light materials so the fire spread quickly,” Gillado said.

He said the possible cause of fire was electrical arching due to loose connection. He said there was no one reported injured or dead during the incident.

In a related report, two houses were gutted along Genaro Lao Street in Toril on Tuesday night.

The report from the Toril Fire Station identified the owners as Loida Bituin and Rosemarie Campania.

According to the report, around 7:58 p.m., Fire Officer 1 Macabane noticed that there was a house on fire at the back of the fire station. Firefighters were immediately deployed to the scene.

Investigation found out that the area of origin was at the second floor of Bituin’s house. The probable cause of fire was electrical short circuit.

The estimated caused of damage to property was P80,000. There was no reported casualty or injured during the fire.

Earlier on the same day, three stores at Phase 5, Don Julian Street, Doña Pilar Subdivision, Barangay Pampanga were also razed by fire around 5:35 p.m.

FO3 Aris Ballarca, fire investigator of BFP Lanang Fire Station, said the cause of fire was an overcharged tablet. There was no casualty but the estimate damage reached P130,000.
