THE EASTERN Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) commended the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council of Davao de Oro and Maco Municipality for leading all efforts to control the critical situation following the Masara landslide on Feb. 6, 2024.
This came after the command’s conduct of post-operations review as the elements of the 525th Engineering Battalion pulled out of the area on Feb. 22, 2024, to return to their headquarters in Quezon City.
LtGen Greg T. Almerol, EastMinCom commander, synthesized the lessons learned from the rescue operations. He said the significant factors in search and rescue operations are the critical decisions of those who lead and control actions on the ground to save lives and protect responders.
“I thank the DRRMC leaders for taking care of the personnel and all those who helped alleviate the pains and sufferings of the victims of the calamities.”
