DTI XI to showcase Davao’s finest at MTE 2024 Goes Glorietta

In 2023’s MTE goes Glorietta fair, the 78 MSMEs from Davao Region generated a total of P4.4 million in sales.
DAVAO CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry XI, in partnership with the Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. (MTEFI), will hold the 4th edition of “MTE goes Glorietta” from October 14 to 17 at the Palm Drive Activity Center, Glorietta Mall, Makati City.
This event is also in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc., and Ayala Malls Glorietta.
This year’s theme, “Empowering the Future of MSMEs: Connecting, Cultivating, Commerce,” focuses on providing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with valuable resources such as market information, technological tools, and professional networks. The goal is to help MSMEs stay competitive and seize new opportunities in both local and international markets. The event underscores the importance of equipping MSMEs with essential resources to foster growth.
DTI XI regional director Romeo L. Castañaga emphasized that the trade expo has been a platform for MSMEs to showcase their wide range of products as it provides an excellent opportunity for local businesses to highlight their diverse offerings, including fashion accessories, arts and crafts, home décor, gifts, food, tourism and services.
“By participating in events like this, MSMEs can showcase the unique creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural richness of the region. It allows local products to reach broader markets, potentially expanding beyond regional boundaries to national and international levels,” Castañaga said.
The regional trade chief sees this expo as a strategic avenue not only for generating sales but also for gaining exposure, forging partnerships, and attracting investments. These outcomes can further drive economic growth in the region. He added that Glorietta Mall, as a premier market platform, has provided excellent exposure for four consecutive years, making it a gateway for Mindanao’s products to gain recognition and explore new opportunities in the global market.
“We invite everyone to visit the 4th edition of MTE goes Glorietta. This event highlights the diverse array of products from Davao Region, many of which have resulted from intensive product development efforts. Through these initiatives, DTI XI has assisted MSMEs in creating new, improved, and innovative products that reflect the creativity and competitiveness of Davao Region’s MSMEs. Visitors can look forward to discovering a wide variety of exceptional goods that embody the region’s vibrant culture and craftsmanship, giving MSMEs an opportunity to shine on a larger stage,” Castañaga said.
In 2023, the MTE goes Glorietta generated Php 4.4 million sales from 78 participating MSMEs from the Davao Region. Regional Director Castañaga is optimistic that this year’s sales will surpass last year’s figures, or at least maintain them. He is confident that the continuous capacity building, product development efforts and expanded market exposure will yield better results for the participating MSMEs.DTIXI
