DCPO scholars get supplies, food packs

THE DAVAO City Police Office distributed school supplies and food packs to its scholars in line with the 30th National Children’s Month kick-off ceremony at parade grounds of Camp Capt. Domingo E. Leonor along San Pedro Street on Monday.

DCPO director Col. Alberto Lupaz led the ceremony with a theme, “Kalusugan, Kaisipan at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan!” during the traditional Monday flag-raising ceremony.

The ceremony was graced by Dr. Flora Mae Cabacungan-Yparraguirre, school administrator and principal of MAPUA Malayan Colleges of Mindanao as guest of honor and speaker. 

During the activity, school supplies and food packs were distributed to the DCPO scholars under the DCPO “Help and Educate a Child” program, donated by the Dr. Flora Mae Cabacungan-Yparraguirre and Mr. Zouheir Ternanni. 

Lupaz said the activity aims to recognize and focus on the mental health and well-being of the children.

The celebration of the 2022 National Children’s Month, pursuant to RA 10661 entitled: “An Act Declaring November of Every Year as National Children’s Month”, commemorating the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly every November of every year. 

It seeks to instill its significance in the Filipino consciousness, as well as sustain the promotion and protection of children’s rights.

The 2022 National Children’s Month celebrates its 30th anniversary with a theme “Kalusugan, Kaisipan at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan!”
