THE city-government-run daycare centers in the barangays will start their blended-learning classes on September 12, an official of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) bared.
Ellena Gabaton, CSWDO focal person for Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Welfare Program, said that the toddlers between 3 and 4 years old are grouped so that they can attend in-person classes two days every week.
“Karong face to face dili sabay- sabay, gi-groupings nato na kay dili gyud dapat sabay-sabay sa classroom,” Gabaton said as one group will attend every Monday and Wednesday while the other will every Tuesdays and Thursdays.
There will be no classes on Fridays so that parents can devote their time to creating activity guides for the remaining days that the children are taught at home, she added.
For a big classroom, 20 students will be accommodated, she added.
Gabaton said that at present, workers, parents of those attending the classes and their respective communities have started preparing the classrooms to transform them into the ones that are developmentally appropriate and conducive for learning.
“Sa parents pud naga- conduct na ug Bayanihan Bulilit, kung sa DepEd pa Brigada Eskwela. Nagatabang sila sa day care workers sa pagpa-gwapo ug pag improve sa day care center,” Gabaton said.
She added that the activities before the opening of classes include enrolment of children and meetings with parents so that by September 9, the children will already have fixed class schedules.
