TEN BARANGAYS in Davao Region were declared cleared on June 10 by the Regional Oversight Committee Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) XI.
The newly declared drug-cleared barangays are Astorga, Inawayan, and Zone III of Sta. Cruz (Davao del Sur), Magatos and San Vicente (Asuncion), Canocotan (Tagum City), Lunga-og (Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte), New Bataan and Pangotusan (Nabunturan, Davao de Oro), and Brgy. Batiano (Baganga, Davao Oriental).
Nephi Noli Dimaandal, the spokesperson of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI said these barangays met the requirements set by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation Number 4, Series of 2021 for Drug-Cleared Barangay status.
The ROCBDC XI, led by PDEA XI Regional Director DIR III Naravay Duquiatan, announced during a meeting held on June 10 at the PAGRO Training Hall in Tagum City.
Representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Health, Police Regional Office XI, and local government units were also present.
With this addition, the Davao Region now has a total of 29 barangays declared drug-free and 180 barangays retaining their drug-cleared status.
Also, local police chiefs, Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council members, and other stakeholders from the declared barangays attended the ceremony.
