Davao City- Some 400 entries are expected to show their wares in the 2023 Davao City Athletics Open which is set to reel off this August 26 and 27 at the University of Mindanao Track Oval in Matina.
This was bared Thursday (August 17) by Davao City Track and Field Association City Director Kenneth Sai who came to the weekly Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum along with Fritz Tan of the GET Holdings Incorporated.
Sai added that these participants will come from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and will play 16 events which comprises running, throwing and jumping categories.
Confirmed to see action are A.O. Floirendo NHS Tamaraws, Barobo Team, Brokenshire College of Toril, Bukid Sprinters, Calinan NHS, EMAR, Hagonoy DavSur Aces, High Land Runners, Panabo City, Philippine Airforce, Pilipinas Para Athletics Team, Rizal Memorial Colleges, ROOP Team, Spectrum Runners Mindanao Chapter, Spectrum Runners Visayas Chapter, Starland International School of Cagayan de Oro, Surallah Kangaroo, Tacurong Athletics Team, Team BBG, University of Mindanao Tagum and University of Mindanao Davao.
“It will be for ages 16 years-old and below and 17 years-old and above,” Sai said.
Tan also cited that the competition will use its state of the art chip timing system along with its brand new facilities which will used in all events. “A photo finish will definitely be presented to the winners aside from medals and cash prizes,” said Tan.
