The Civil Registrar’s Office (CRO) achieved its annual quota for mobile registration last year as it recorded 1,600.
The figure, the agency said, was 100 more than the target last year.
Leslie Lagare, CCRO Mobile in charge, said that of those new registrants, 75% were members of indigenous peoples (IPs) in far-flung areas.
Mobile registration is a continuous effort of CRO to reach out to IPs who are too far to visit and register themselves at their office.
This year, the CRO already conducted mobile registration in Paquibato District, Calinan District and Marilog District. “Last week we were in Brgy. Bantol, Paquibato proper, Fatima, and Tugbok. In early January, we went to Suawan,” Lagare said, adding that the agency holds mobile registration in areas where it is requested.
Next week, the CRO will conduct mobile registration in Brgy. Tomas Monteverde, Brgy. Bato, Brgy. Cadalian, Brgy. Tungkalan, Brgy. Pangyan and Brgy. Pandaitan.
The agency also intends to conduct mobile registration in Brgy. Baganihan, apart from its charter day celebration, in order to cater to more IPs. Lagare said the agency received reports that members of the Matigsalug community have not been registered.
CRO has yet to receive any request from Brgy. Baganihan so for now, they will focus on areas in their list.
