Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao ensures passenger safety through Oplan Byaheng Ayos: Pasko 2024

PERSONNEL have been strategically deployed across key ports to ensure the safety and convenience of the traveling public during the holiday season in line with the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao’s “Oplan Byaheng Ayos: Pasko 202.”, 

As of 8 a.m. on Dec. 23, the status of some ports in the region is as follows:

  • Sta. Ana Wharf – Operations are running smoothly despite the increasing number of passengers. Assistance desks are fully operational.
  • Mae Wess Wharf – Passenger volume remains manageable, with additional personnel deployed to facilitate boarding procedures.
  • DAVSAM Wharf – Heavy passenger traffic is observed, but port operations remain under control with enhanced support from Coast Guard teams.

To assist the traveling public, the CGDSEM and Coast Guard Northern Surigao (CGNSU-SEM) also created assistance desks at the ports.

Lieutenant Commander Angel Tobias, CGDSEM spokesperson, said their personnel can provide first aid, guidance, and real-time updates to passengers.

CGDSEM assured its commitment to maintaining order and safety in ports throughout the holiday period. Meanwhile, passengers are encouraged to cooperate with authorities, arrive at ports early, and adhere to safety protocols.
