City lauded for eBOSS compliance

THE CITY government was awarded a certificate of commendation for the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS) implementation.

The city is the 29th recipient of the commendation from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for the digitalization of process of business permit applications and renewals and other government processes.

Ernesto V. Perez, ARTA director general secretary, handed the certificate to Atty. Francis Layog, acting city administrator, and Maribel Paguican, Business Bureau Head on Monday, May 13.

Perez said that given the ease of access and convenience, it interests investors to do business in the city.

Every pertinent information for business registration, including submission of applications, online payment, and electronic issuance of documents can be accessed by clients in the eBOSS portal.

Paguican said in an interview with Davao City Disaster Radio on May 17, that while the process is already digitized, they still accept onsite applications.

“Ang standing nga order sa amo akron, since naa pamay opisina, dili i-reject ang mga tao nga mo transact sa office, so kung moadto sila, amo gihapon silang i-cater,” Paguican said.

However, business owners are encouraged to register personally to secure their data better.

She added the portal also features chat support so they can communicate with other offices involved in business permitting.

Wala nay dapat problemahon nga naglisod sa isa ka office, kay they can communicate with the other offices in the portal,”  Paguican said.

The business bureau continues to conduct capacitation at the barangay level to orient and guide the new business owners of the online business application.

The official reminds the public to visit the office of the Business Bureau in the Sanguniang Panlungsod for any complaints and questions on business applications.

Section 11 (c) of the Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business Act, requires all local government units to digitize and operationalize eBOSS by June 2021.
