Cebu Pacific, Avolon Give Back to Local Community

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, has partnered with aviation finance leader Avolon to renovate a community center in Lang Lang, Cebu. This joint effort underscores the organizations’ mutual dedication to supporting local communities through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.

The center, managed by the local charity City Gates Academy, caters to impoverished children in the area by providing them with nutritional support and ample space for play.

“Cebu Pacific has always aimed to pay forward to the communities we serve. We are grateful for partners like Avolon who share our passion for making meaningful impact. This partnership not only shows our deep commitment to social responsibility but also highlights the power of collective action and volunteerism in driving lasting change,” said Felix Lopez, CEB Chief Human Resources Officer

Over 50 volunteers from CEB and Avolon joined the renovation project, which includes the construction of an outdoor kitchen, installation of a play area, and the establishment of a vegetable garden space.

“Supporting communities is a core element of our environmental, social, and governance strategy and as a global business it was exciting for us to partner with a key customer whose values and social goals are aligned with our own. It has been an uplifting experience working together to improve the lives of the children who benefit from the important work of the City Gates Academy. Today’s efforts will leave a lasting legacy and I know this visit to Cebu is something that the Avolon team here today will remember for the rest of their lives,” said Ciara Ruane, Avolon Chief People Officer.

This partnership marks a milestone for both organizations, with CEB becoming Avolon’s first airline partner in a community development program outside its country of operations.

Through collaborative initiatives such as these, CEB is dedicated to building stronger, more resilient communities and paving the way for a brighter future for every Juan.
