- Five individuals arrested in separate drug busts
DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) operatives apprehended five individuals, including three high-value targets, in separate buy-bust operations across the city over the weekend.
In the most recent operation, alias James, a resident of Barangay Lagug, Maguindanao del Sur, was arrested at Purok 47, Km. 8, Roldan Village, Barangay Ma-a, at 1:54 a.m. on Sunday.
DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said the suspect sold shabu to an undercover officer, leading to his arrest. A further search found additional sachets containing illegal drugs with a total value of P5,916.
At 12:54 a.m. on Sunday, the Bunawan police apprehended a regional-level target, identified as alias Sai, 35, a resident of Notre Dame Village, Cotabato City, during a buy-bust in Purok 5, Barangay San Isidro, Bunawan District.
Seized from him included 12.75 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P86,700.
Meanwhile, alias Mike, 5 a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Bago Gallera, Talomo District, was handcuffed following a sting operation by the Baliok police at 10:50 p.m. on Saturday. Authorities seized three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.83 grams and worth P12,444 from his possession.
Finally, at 5:51 p.m. on Saturday, alias Dong, 35, a butane vendor residing in Marfori Heights, Bajada, was arrested in Purok 10-B, Barangay Los Amigos, Tugbok District.
The station-level target reportedly yielded 1.502 grams of shabu with a street value of P21,000.
All arrested individuals are currently detained in different police stations facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
