SOLDIERS belonging to the 701st Infantry Brigade and members of the police braved the bad weather in delivering basic services to residents of Sitio Bitanagan, Brgy. Old Macopa in Manay, Davao Oriental.
The beneficiaries, about 100 residents, received school supplies and food packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development as children underwent circumcision.
The government uniformed personnel, with some youth volunteers from Lumon community, also brought with them six solar panels from the provincial government.

Another feature of the daylong event was the launching of Project HALIK (Health, Agriculture, Livelihood, Indigenous Culture, Knowledge), a peace and development initiative designed to help far-flung villages in the province.
Jemwel Masanguid, member of barangay council, thanked those behind the event despite the heavy downpour.
