Pattaya in a day

Dinosaur Valley at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden
EVEN IN less than 24 hours, we still managed to have enough time to scratch the surface of this dynamic city two hours from Bangkok, exploring some sites that make Pattaya more than just a beach destination This isn’t a comprehensive guide, but rather a snapshot of our whirlwind trip to this fascinating coastal city that you might consider on your next trip to Thailand.
Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and Elephant Show: The stunning botanical gardens of the world were a feast for the eyes, and the elephant show was both entertaining and educational. Amazing to see and interact with these gentle giants up close. Who knows, you might get lucky and get a free elephant massage as I did!

Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya: This breathtaking, beach-fronting temple carved entirely from wood left us speechless. The intricate details and spiritual significance were truly awe-inspiring. Do take a guided tour to learn more about the place.

Khao Chi Chan (Buddha Mountain) in Chon Buri: The massive Buddha image carved by laser into the cliffside was truly impressive. The scale and artistry were just breathtaking. This religious landmark was created to mark the 50th anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s reign in 1996.

House of Benedict in Pattaya: A trendy cafe that houses an interesting blend of interior design styles. They also serve equally Instagrammable chows and drinks. The entry fee for foreigners is 200 baht, which can be redeemed for food and drinks.

Pattaya Floating Market: Forget the other tourist-trap markets as this one is quite a carefully curated immersion in Thai culture. Opened in 2008, this market mimics the traditional Thai floating markets, where visitors can take a wooden boat ride around the sprawling complex of canals.

Special thanks to Moxy Hotel, our home during our stay in Bangkok. The largest Moxy in Asia Pacific with 504 rooms, we had quite a blast with their fun-inspired vibe, from their cinema-inspired reception (that doubles as a bar) to their stylish, well-curated rooms and functional spaces. It’s also within the heart of Bangkok’s shopping district. We also had a (barely) overnight stay at Ozo North in Pattaya, practically a few meters away from the city’s famous boulevard and Walking Street.
Going to Pattaya is now made easier with Cebu Pacific Air’s direct flight from Davao to Bangkok via Don Mueang International Airport every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
