DAVAO CITY – Rodney Banquillo of Davao Oriental and Anna Rhodora Diez of Davao City ruled the Open Men and Women competition in the 3rd Mayor Tina Yu Bugsayan kayakfest held last June 22 and 23 at San Isidro, Davao Oriental.
Banquillo topped the Open Men followed by the son-and-father Carl Louie Escoltor and Walter Escoltor of Davao in second and third place respectively.
Diez, on the other hand won the Open Women by a come from behind victory over former Samal champion Kizia Marie “Kim” delos Reyes, who finished second.
Davao’s April Joy Trinidad placed third.Diaz and Trinidad combined to win the All-Women Tandem.
Sheena Clate and Christine Pal finished second followed by third place Delos Reyes and Jessa Gallosa.

Tandem Mixed – champion – Rodney and Reggie Banquillo; 2nd- Sowaib Madjib and Datdat Edno; 3rd – Glenn Philip Dadivas and Narciso Edquilla;Vinta – champion – Walter Escoltar; 2nd – Adrian Bocanegra; 3rd – Tatay Nagar;Tabanog – champion – Alvin Suaner; 2nd – Arnel Genilza; 3rd – Leo Labawa.
