966 cases filed for violation of quarantine protocols, say

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has filed 966 cases against violators of the quarantine protocols since the implementation of the enhanced community community (ECQ) in March.

DCPO Director Kirby John Kraft bared that his office, the lead enforcement agency in the implementation of the ECQ, recorded 1,045 violators of the curfew hours; 151 for liquor ban; and, 124 for violation of the social distancing and mass gathering since March 15.

Of the number of those arrested, 966 cases have been filed in court, he said. 

DCPO also recorded 1,118 violators of the use of Food and Medicine (FM) since the start of its implementation on April 4.

Based on the protocols, since March 15 when the city was placed on quarantine, also being implemented have included the implementation of curfew, ban on liquor and mass gathering.

The agency has also conducted operations against hoarding, overpricing, and profiteering as it has so far seized overpriced alcohol, face masks, thermal scanners, disinfectants, and liquid soaps.

The city government has continued to urge Dabawenyos to report ECQ violators through the Operations Center and the law enforcement agencies.
