NINETY-SIX local paintings attended by 14 art clubs of the Dabawenyo Artist Federation Inc. (DAFI) will be showcased at an art exhibit of the Davao Tourismo Arts and Food Trucks Bazaar at Rizal Park.
At the PEP Talks in SM Lanang, DAFI artist Vic Navales said that the art exhibit may accommodate 100 or more paintings for Duaw Davao’s event. The paintings will feature various art mediums in pastel, oil, and others.
“Ang aming commitment to Duaw Davao, to City Tourism Operations Office is 96 paintings but we can add more,” he said on June 25.
DAFI’s 14 art clubs (around 150 members) who will attend the art exhibit are the same artists who were showcased at the Davao Artfest 2024 last May 25 to June 2 at La Herencia. Navales also said that DAFI is seeking more art clubs in Davao Region to represent them in any art activities.
He added that Duaw Davao 2024 festival will help promote the local art and artists of Davao City for visitors to see.
“So they would like to showcase the artists in Davao City for other people outside of Davao City to realize that you know we have what it takes. There are a lot of excellent artists working and doing artwork in Davao City,” he said.
Davao Tourismo Arts and Food Trucks Bazaar is one of Duaw Davao 2024’s 8 activities that will run from June 27 to 30. The art exhibit is free and will open on June 27 at 2 p.m.
