FIVE members of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the 88th Infantry Battalion in Barangay Namnam, San Fernando Bukidnon on Thursday.
Lt. Col. Christian James Vingno, battalion commander, said those who gave themselves up were identified by those who surrendered ahead of them as former members of the to Guerilla Front Malayag, Sub-Regional Command 2, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee.
They brought with them five high-powered firearms.
The former rebels have undergone debriefing and documentation that will allow authorities to facilitate the granting of their benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
