3 more golds for DC tankers

Tagum City – Davao City’s youthful tankers continued to make big splashes adding three more gold medals along with seven silvers and six bronze in Day 2 of the 2019 Batang Pinoy Games Mindanao eliminations swimming competition at the Tagum City Sports and Tourism Sports Complex, here.

Lisa Margarette Amoguis still made her presence felt by winning her second gold medal this time winning it in the girls 12 and under 200-meter freestyle event while teammate Julian Marien Villanueva duplicated that feat in the girls 15 and under 400-meter individual medley. Davao’s third gold medal yesterday saw Maiki Samantha Gonzaga in the boys 13-15 50-meter butterfly event.

All attributed to keep the city’s hopes for another overall title in the medal tally as they stand at the top of the team standings with 22 golds, 13 silvers and 30 bronze medals as of 9 a.m. yesterday leaving past Koronadal City (18-9-6), South Cotabato (15-19-16) and General Santos City (15-18-17) at second, third and fourth places, respectively.

Davao City’s tankers also added seven silvers from Amoguis (girls 15 and under 400-meter individual medley), Alissa Ysabelle Lazarraga (girls 13-15 50-meter butterfly), Matthieu Adrien Tao (boys 13-15 200 meter backstroke/boys 13-15 200-meter freestyle), Lora Micah Amoguis (girls 13-15 200-meter backstroke) and Francis Greg Espiritu (boys 13-15 200-meter breaststroke).

Bronze medals saw Khrystian Tan (boys 13-15 50-meter butterfly), Ivo Nikolai Enot (boys 13-15 200-meter backstroke), Alissa Ysabelle Lazarraga (girsl 13-15 200-meter backstroke), Maica Angela Garcia (girls 13-15 200-meter breaststroke), Girls 15 and under 200-meter 4×50 relay (Gonzales, Lao, Lazarraga) and Juliana Marien Villanueva (girls 13-15 200-meter freestyle).
