THE ASSUMPTION College of Davao and Adventure X will conduct the “Sama-Sama Family Fun Run 2024” on April 14 in celebration of the school’s 65th anniversary.
During the PEP Talks at SM Lanang, Mari B. Baluta, president of the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) of ACD, announced that the event is bringing together families and school community members of ACD, and in response to raising awareness in taking care of Mother Earth.
The family fun run will begin at 5 am and will end at 9 am with a general assembly after the race. The event is only for school community members of ACD (students, parents, teachers, and alumni), and is a fundraising event to benefit ACD’s PTA school development for students, and their two adopted schools in rural areas to support the education and educators.
Baluta added that the family fun run is also an initiation for the series of events that will run for a week from Apr 14 to 17. The Sama-Sama is a traditional annual gathering of ACD’s school community members with events such as a concert and talent showcase.
“This will be opened with a padagan and this will be closed with a concert and in between the event will be for the kids,” she said.
According to Shiela Torres, Technical of Adventure X, the route will start and finish at ACD campus with 3 km, 5 km, and 7 km races and routes going to Cabaguio and J.P. Laurel streets.
“We’ll be the one to secure the safety of all the runners and we’ll be the one to secure all their hydration also,” she said.
