THE DEPARTMENT of Labor Employment (DOLE) XI partnered with the private sector to hold the annual Labor Day Job Fair from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at SM City Davao in Ecoland on May 1.

This year’s theme is “Bilihing abot presyo, benepisyo ng matatag na trabaho para sa manggagawang Pilipino,”  according to Ryan D. Roldan Sr., DOLE XI regional employment focal person, during the AFP-PNP press briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday.

He said they also partnered with the Department of Migrant Workers, which invited nine overseas employers to join the event along with 45 local companies.

As of April 26, he said they have 2,126 local vacancies and 576 overseas assignments waiting to be filled.

DOLE XI will also conduct job fairs in Mati City, Davao Oriental, on May 1 and at NCCC Tagum, Davao Del Norte, on May 2.

Also, he said they would set up a one-stop shop at SM City for the department’s “Pabahay Program” in collaboration with the Department of Human Settlement, National Housing Authority (NHA), and Pag-IBIG. The setup targets employees and job seekers seeking to own their homes.
