One-hundred sixty medical frontliners all tested negative for COVID-19.
Dr. Leopoldo Vega, Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) chief of hospital, said during the virtual press conference on Monday that they tested the health workers from March 31 to April 4.
He said that these were workers from SPMC who were in the emergency rooms, intensive care unit, and in the isolation rooms.
“Very important that these frontliners will be given this test because it gives them the confidence and security of making sure that they are able to perform things well,” he said.
It is also part of the strategy of SPMC to make sure that all medical health workers who are attending to COVID-19 patients are safe.
Recently, Vega also said that massive testing has been conducted on all medical workers in the region for the same reason.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) donations have been donated to the local hospitals from various stakeholders and private sectors.
China recently delivered two batches of PPEs on April 4 and April 5. These will be distributed to all hospitals in the region.
These donations had an estimated number of 163,380 various PPEs recently acquired from China. They include disposable masks, goggles, surgical gloves, shoe covers, N95 mask, protective suits, breathing machine, infrared thermometer, and lianhua qingwen capsule.
