Youth urged to venture into agri through training

TO ENCOURAGE the youth in the field of agriculture, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) XI partnered with the state colleges in the region to offer specialized training. 

Lucille Camarines, ATI XI chief information officer, said they have observed that the youth are not that interested in farm-related activities. 

“Dili gyud sila (youth) ingana ka-interested gyud. That is why we are doing our best na mas mahimo gyung attractive once again sa ilaha ang agriculture through our series of activities,” Camarines said. 

In line with the upcoming ATI XI Davao Region Expo on Nov. 24-25, Camarines shared they also prepared activities for the youth to engage with, such as the “Kabataang OA (Organic Agriculture) Quiz Bee” and the “Rice Couture 2023,” a fashion design competition using rice-based materials. 

She also said they will also promote scholarship programs for degree and non-degree courses, and international internship programs for the Out-of-School Youth. 

“We have internship programs in Taiwan and in Japan para sa atoang mga Out-of-School Youth, and daghan pang mga programa,” she added.

The ATI-XI Davao Region Expo will be held on November 24-25, at Ayala Malls Abreeza, Davao City.
