THE YIELD Guild Games Pilipinas Roadtrip featured the Web3 Metaversity at Abreeza Ayala Malls on June 1 to empower gaming enthusiasts and learn about cryptocurrency, blockchain, and trading fundamentals.
During an interview at the YGG Pilipinas event in Abreeza Ayala Malls, YGG community lead under the pseudonym Spraky said the Web3 Metaversity helps educate and create many opportunities for the gaming communities by training them for the Web3 Metaversity.
“Kasi mga moderators are very in demand right now. Mga Discord moderator, mga social media manager ganyan tapos how to be a content creator mga ganyan yung mga skills na usable. Web Tools skills na siya pero very usable in demand dito sa Web3,” Spraky said.
Spraky added the YGG Roadtrip served as a platform for the Web3 Metaversity to reach more Filipino gamers due to the growing Web3 gaming community in the Philippines.
“So gusto namin, what if dalhin natin sa probinsya kasi hindi naman lahat capable pumunta sa Manila para mag participate. So yun yung call ng community. Gusto talaga nilang ma experience yung YGG experience, yung mga Web3 games na pwede namin ishare sa kanila,” Spraky said.
Evamay C. Dela Rosa, Department of Information and Communications Technology XI regional director, delivered her opening remarks during the YGG Pilipinas Roadtrip event. She said video games can encourage creativity, gain friends through virtual interactions, unite the gaming community, and develop a digital economy.
“Remember you’re not just playing games, you’re also shaping the future. Kayo yung nag pu-push ng boundaries,” Dela Rosa said.
YGG Pilipinas Roadtrip launched last April 13 and will visit six cities; Batangas, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, and Manila. Over 20 video games of Web3 were showcased including a cosplay fiesta of anime, comics, and role-playing games.
