Woman found dead in Tugbok

A WOMAN was found stuffed inside a black plastic garbage bag and dumped on a vacant lot in Tugbok District, Davao City, early Saturday morning, Feb. 1.

A resident of Barangay Tugbok Proper found the body while he was passing by the corner of Santol Street and Mangga Street at around 6 a.m. He reportedly noticed a suspicious-looking bag and decided to investigate. He peeked and discovered what appeared to be human skin.

He immediately alerted nearby residents and called for police assistance.

Responding officers from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) arrived at the scene and secured the area.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team, led by PCMS Julito Barril, said the woman likely died from two stab wounds on her chest. She had a tattoo of a mother carrying a baby on her left chest.

Later that day, Sherly Vizconde Malto identified the deceased as her daughter, April Mae Onggo Vizconde, 21, a resident of Purok 7, Small Tacunan, Tugbok District.

The body of Vizconde was brought to Angel Funeral Homes in Calinan for further examination.

The DCPO is currently conducting a follow-up investigation to identify and apprehend the suspect(s) responsible for the killing.
