A UNIQUE story about friendship and love unfolds as KDR Music House holds its Wish Date concert series live in SMX Davao on Friday, May 19.
Song performances feature a new line-up of the most sought-after artists in the Philippines, like multitalented actor Teejay Marquez, actress-TV host Ayra Mariano, and award-winning actress Joy Apostol. They are joined by budding artist Hakki, Kimberly Baluzo, OPM renowned hitmaker Raymond Lauchengco, singer-songwriter Sam Mangubat, and Soul Siren Nina.
Wish Date ‘Twilight’ concert series was inspired by the stories of Wish 107.5 listeners and letter senders. Nostalgic songs from the 70s to early 200s included on the set list, were curated to intertwine the story and the concert itself.
“Gusto naming ma-involve pa rin (We still want to involve them), ma engage pa rin yung millennials natin or gen z (For our millennials and gen Z to still be engaged), pero habang binibigyan po natin sila ng opportunity to engage to songs nila ngayon (even though we give them the opportunity to engage to songs nowadays), syempre gusto rin po namin na ma-expose sila at ma-immerse sila ulit sa mga [old] music natin (of course, we also want them to be exposed and immersed again to old music),” Arnold Sanchez, KDR Music House show director, said.
Wish Date’s seeks to promote OPM music and establish a venue for artists to publish their original songs, especially here in Davao City.
“Iniimbitahan po namin ang lahat dito na mga Davaoeños (We invite all of the Davaoeños). I think this is the second time we’re doing a concert here with Wish Date. Ang Wish Date po is a unique concept of concert series po namin sa Manila na itino-tour po namin and isa po sa unang lugar na pinagdadalhan po namin is Davao (The Wish Date is a unique concept of concert series from Manila and one of the first chosen place is Davao),” he added.
