  • DCPO arrests 131 individuals in police operations 

 

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO), under director PCOL Hansel M. Marantan, arrested 131 individuals from Feb. 16 to 22, 2025, in the continuing crackdown on illegal drugs, illegal gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms.

The DCPO also rescued one child in conflict with the law (CICL) during the period.

According to Marantan, the DCPO conducted 31 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 44 individuals. Authorities also seized 207.34 grams of shabu, with a street value of P1,409,912, and 4,116.4 grams of marijuana valued at P3,996.40.

The DCPO’s intensified efforts against illegal gambling led to the arrest of 38 individuals in 28 operations. A total of P211,570 in bet money was confiscated and 28 cases were filed against the violators.

Meanwhile, the DCPO’s operations on fugitives resulted in the arrest of 48 people, including 14 most wanted persons and 34 others.

In 14 operations aimed at curbing the proliferation of loose firearms, the DCPO apprehended one individual, rescued one CICL, and seized three illegal firearms. 

Additionally, three firearms were surrendered, and nine were turned in for safekeeping through “Oplan Katok.” Lastly, police filed two cases of illegal firearms against the arrested individuals.

DCPO acknowledges community support

Meanwhile, the DCPO acknowledged the crucial roles of barangay officials, community members, and the city government in the success of these operations.

“These accomplishments highlight the DCPO’s dedication to enforcing the law while respecting human rights and adhering to police operational procedures,” Marantan said. “Let us continue working together for a sound and safer community.”
