MAGICAL Gems, a homegrown Davao brand that specializes in fashionable and elegant jewelry meticulously crafted from both semi-precious and precious stones (such as ruby, sapphire, and amethyst), opened its flagship store last Tuesday, June 3, at the second level of Ayala Malls Abreeza.
The opening was graced by no less than movie actress, TV host, and style icon Ruffa Gutierrez, who is also the brand’s celebrity endorser.

“We are truly delighted to welcome Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez to the Magical Gems family,” said company CEO Harry Lopez-Chua. “Her grace, charisma, and undeniable style make her the ideal representative for our brand. We are particularly excited for TV viewers and her followers to see her wear our pieces on her new TV show, where they will undoubtedly add an extra touch of glamour to her character.”
Gutierrez also expressed her appreciation for the jewelry brand’s contemporary designs and versatility.
“They’re exquisite and unique, catering to anyone, whether one’s going to a gala, the grocery, or simply wants to feel good about oneself,” she said.

Gutierrez added that the brand also aligns with her personal style as “each piece tells a significant story”. “It’s not just its appearance, but how these beautiful pieces make you feel,” she said during the interview.
Magical Gems will be providing Gutierrez with jewelry and accessories for her highly anticipated upcoming television series, “Beauty Empire” on GMA Network and Hong Kong-based streaming service, Viu. She will be playing the character Velma Imperial, described as a “queen CEO”. Known for her sophisticated taste and timeless elegance, the former Miss World 1993 second runner-up will be wearing the brand’s meticulously crafted pieces, ranging from statement necklaces to delicate earrings and bracelets.

A short fashion presentation during the opening showcased some of the brand’s distinct pieces as worn by top Manila models Isabella Galeria and Karen Mendoza, along with Glam Model House models.
Gutierrez and Lopez-Chua were later joined by businessman and actor Raymond “RS” Francisco, businesswoman Jona Ang, and businesswoman and philanthropist Cecille Bravo during the ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
