THERE are several beach resorts in the Island Garden City of Samal, and then there’s The Island Buenavista, in Barangay Balet, Babak District. What makes this resort a standout from the rest is that this is the only one in Samal where one can make the entire island their own.
Last weekend, The Island Buenavista, represented by our good friend, Communications Officer Jeline P. Gison, invited a select group of print and online media, along with Department of Tourism Xl regional director Tanya R. Tan , Davao Tourism Association president Cherry Faye B. Al-ag and Davao Visitors Destinations Hub president Pia Lourdes Partoza Montano, to a day of rediscovering the island resort.
“Now that that pandemic restrictions have been lifted and people are eager to travel, we want to tell people that we have a place where they can experience owning the whole island on the entirety of their booking with utmost privacy and exclusivity, ” said Gison.
The island resort has a family villa, island suites, executive suite, cabanas, and a function area strategically located within the four-hectare Island (which doubles in size during low tide). It also has a gazebo and a boardwalk, perfect for sunset promenades or capturing Instagrammable shots.
“Our guests also enjoy having their meals, or even weddings and parties by the beach area,” shared Gison.
As a welcome to summer, the resort is offering a day tour package with exclusive use of the island for Php 50,000 per day, good for ten persons (maximum of 50 persons per booking). This already includes lunch, morning or afternoon snacks, and complimentary use of the facilities and amenities.
“Guests can have a field day of swimming at the beach or by the pool, go snorkeling, kayaking, or play beach volleyball and table tennis,” said Gison.
The Island Buenavista is also surrounded by coral gardens, making it also a suitable site for snorkeling and diving.
To those who want to stay overnight, guests need to shell out Php149,000 per night for 10 persons (maximum of 25 persons). The package includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and morning and afternoon snacks. They can also enjoy complimentary use of the facilities and amenities similar to day tour guests.
The said tour packages include roundtrip boat transfers from Anamarina Resort in mainland Samal, but guests can also have the option to have exclusive roundtrip boat transfers from Waterfront Insular Hotel for a fee.
“We only accept one booking at a time, so guests are assured that the island is theirs alone during their stay. The resort is also staffed with well-trained personnel who can ably serve their needs,” added Gison.
As a peek to the summer season, The Island Buenavista also offered a limited day tour package for all weekends of March (until March 25) for only Php3,000 per person, inclusive of lunch and roundtrip boat transfers.
“This is our way of reintroducing the resort to visitors who are looking for a truly unique island living experience,” quipped Gison.
