VICE PRESIDENT Sara Duterte on Thursday ruled out the possibility of accepting another Cabinet position under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., adding she will focus on her job instead
“Hindi na ako magse-serve in another Cabinet post sa Marcos administration (I will not serve in another cabinet position under Marcos administration),” Duterte said in an ambush interview after the turnover ceremony at the headquarters of the Department of Education on Thursday, July 18.
Meanwhile, the vice president revealed that she resigned as education secretary for personal reasons.
“No,” Duterte anwered when prodded about the speculation that she resigned because of the first lady, Liza Araneta-Marcos.
The vice president’s resignation took effect on July 19, 2024, following her submission on June 19, 2024.
It can be remembered that First Lady Liza had publicly criticized Vice President Duterte, calling her a “bad shot” after the latter allegedly laughed when former President Rodrigo Duterte referred to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as bangag (junkie) during a rally in Davao City last January.
