Voters urged | Vote early, practice social distancing

RESIDENTS who will vote on Monday are reminded to go to their polling precincts early to adhere to minimum public health standards.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, City COVID-19 Task Force spokesperson, said wearing of face masks, social distancing and washing hands with soap and water or alcohol are still needed when they decide to vote.

.Polling precincts will open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 9.

“As to rules for voters, they are mandated to wear face masks at all times, maski gapila, ga fill-up. Have also a safe distance of one meter apart,” Schlosser said, adding that although Executive Order 11 has removed the mandatory social distancing, residents should still practicing distancing within the voting precincts.

“For this event, kinahanglan ang social distancing to ensure that there is no possibility of high risk of transmission,” she added.

Concerned agencies monitoring the election process will also help ensure that physical distancing is complied with as those who are ill with COVID-19 will not be allowed to vote as they will not be allowed to leave the places where they are isolated.
