USeP holds Investiture for 7th university president Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr.

THE UNIVERSITY of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) held its Investiture and Inaugural State of the University Address of 7th president Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr. on Dec 13 to fulfill his accomplishments for the university and honor his continued leadership.

Gabales Jr. was officially invested as the 7th president to faithfully serve USeP as well as to uphold and advance the tradition of academic excellence that defines the institution. He was appointed as the 7th president on Nov 12 2023 and his term will end on Nov 11, 2027.

During the State of the University Address, he presented his framework that is closely aligned with the strategic plan 2022 to 2027 designed to drive the university forward.

In 2024, USeP allocated a budget of P833 million which enabled it to implement various programs, activities, and projects. A significant increase to the budget for the allocation of the national expenditure program of FY 2025 reached P1.2 billion to ensure the effective utilization of resources.

“GREAT SERVICE” was highlighted, an acronym that is rooted in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations (UN) that will inspire USeP to sustain its progress and achieve institutional goals in order for the strategic plan to be impactful. 

The acronym stands for: Governance for sustainability, Resilience in action, Efficient resource generation, Advancement of green practices, Technology for renewable solutions, Student-first Policy, Excellence in inclusive education, Research in advancement innovation and scholarly activities, Value-driven and sustainable, Inclusive infrastructure and facilities development, Collaborate for positive global impact, and finally Empowerment in human resources.

In USeP’s milestones, the university achieved a Philippine Quality Award Level III, a recognition for mastery in quality management. It also secured a rank at 169 in Southeastern Asia and ranking at 901+ in Asia at the QS World University Rankings.
