Ungab vows to continue plans and projects for the City

REELECTIONIST 3rd District Rep. Isidro Ungab has filed his candidacy for congressman in his last term for the 2025 midterm elections, vowing to continue his plans and projects for the city, particularly in the 3rd district.

In an interview with the media during his candidacy filing, he stated, “Most likely, I have an opponent, and yes, we are preparing for it. Every day, we are providing our services; we have not stopped.”

He noted that he has nearly completed major infrastructure projects in his district. “More or less, I have almost finished the main road networks. Additionally, we have provided school buildings, which are very important. We have also provided teachers, barangay halls, electricity, and water systems. More or less, it’s complete, along with ongoing maintenance.”

“Some projects need to continue, and maintenance is required for what we started in 2007. The roads and buildings, which are about 17 years old, need repair. I will do my best to complete the finishing touches in UP Mindanao,” he added.

Water system

“Compared to other districts, the 3rd district is the source of water. You just need to travel a bit further, unlike in other districts, where both drinking water and agricultural purposes are more accessible.”

Still under Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod Party

“In Congress, I will continue with my party, Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod. We are aligned with former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte, and our advocacy will align with her stance,” Ungab said.

When asked about adjustments since the administration has a large campaign machinery, he replied, “Well, it’s normal. As I’ve said, the decision is with the people. I have experience running under the administration and now returning to the opposition, so it’s normal. The final decision, of course, lies with the people; they will decide if the candidate deserves their vote. We hope and pray for the continued support of the people, and we are doing our best to meet the expectations of Davaoeños.”

Message to the public

“To my supporters and constituents in the 3rd district, this is Congressman Isidro Ungab, and I will continue to serve you. I ask for your support again as I have filed my certificate of candidacy. I joined politics on May 8, 1995, and I will have been in politics for 30 years by May 12.”

In 1995, he became the youngest city councilor in the 3rd district.

He emphasized, “A government without representation is not a perfect democracy; it must be the voice of the majority. However, it is also crucial to hear the voice of the minority. Whoever the majority is should respect the voice of the minority—that’s politics.”
