TWO GRADUATES from the University of Mindanao-Davao City topped the May 2025 licensure examination for Certified Public Accountants.
Rica Mae Davis Marbebe landed in the Top 5 with a rating of 90.33%, while Jasper Gementiza Enumerables clinched Top 8 with a rating of 89.67%, with examinees from Filamer Christian University and De La Salle University-Manila.
UM Davao produced 35 new CPAs, logging a passing rate of 74.29% for first-time takers and 64.81% overall.
Meanwhile, two graduates from the University of Southeastern Philippines-Davao City landed in the Top 6: Axelvhox Daiz Ompod and Lyle Joyce Monroid Saturinas, both with a rating of 90.17%.
John Elrich Ramirez Gamboa of the University of the Philippines-Diliman got the Top 1 with 92.67%.
UP Diliman secured the top-performing schools with 60/60 passers, representing a 100% passing rate, while Bicol University-Daraga recorded 53 passers out of 60, representing 88.33%.
The Professional Regulation Commission announced that 3,156 out of 9,533 (33.11%) successfully passed the May 2025 CPALE.
The accountancy licensure exam was conducted on May 25-27, 2025, in testing centers in NCR, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
The Board of Accountancy is headed by its chairman, Noe G. Quiñanola, vice-chairman, Samuel B. Padilla, and members Gloria T. Baysa, Thelma S. Ciudadano, Gervacio I. Piator, and Maria Teresita Z. Dimaculangan.
