Two pedestrians, including PWD, injured in a flyover accident

TWO PEDESTRIANS, including a person with a disability (PWD), were injured after they were hit by a vehicle along the Dacudao-Buhangin Flyover on Saturday, May 10, at around 1:15 p.m.

According to Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon, the pedestrians were Vicente Lubiano and Nazareno Maniwang (PWD).

Lubiano recounted that he was pushing Maniwang’s wheelchair toward Buhangin from Dacudao Avenue when a Suzuki Jitney with plate number LWA113 driven by Christian Louie Villocorta Saguid hit them at the flyover.

The report states that Saguid was traveling on the inclined road heading toward Buhangin from J.P. Laurel Avenue when he bumped the pedestrians on the front right side.

The impact threw Lubiano and Maniwang onto the road, sustaining injuries. Barangay 19-B medics arrived at the scene to assist the injured but they refused to be transported to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) despite medical advice.

Meanwhile,  the Suzuki driver and his vehicle are currently detained at the Bajada Police Station for proper investigation and disposition of the case.
