Two men with P818,720 worth of shabu arrested at Sirawan checkpoint 

AUTHORITIES caught two men at the Sirawan checkpoint in Toril on Monday morning, Jan. 20, after over P818,000 worth of suspected shabu were allegedly found in their vehicle.

At around 2:45 a.m., personnel from Task Force Sirawan flagged down a Suzuki Sedan driven by an unidentified man. 

During the inspection, a Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member noticed a small sachet of suspected shabu on the floor mat of the vehicle.

The passenger, identified as alias Kristoffer, appeared nervous and admitted to having more drugs. He voluntarily opened the glove compartment, revealing several more sachets of suspected shabu in plain view.

A total of eight sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from the vehicle. The estimated street value of the seized drugs was P818,720.

The driver and Kristoffer were arrested and detained at the police station. Meanwhile, the seized drugs were turned over to the Davao City Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.

The suspects are facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
