TWO SEPARATE fire incidents occurred in the Toril and Calinan districts on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, causing significant property damage.
According to the report of the Davao City Police Office, a house owned by 52-year-old Jocelyn in Purok 1, Penano Street, Barangay Calinan Poblacion, Calinan District, was gutted by fire on Oct. 31, 2024,
The blaze started around 1:55 a.m. and was extinguished by the Calinan Fire Bureau at 2:51 a.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the estimated damage to property is around P1.5 million.
Before the residential fire, a warehouse fire broke out on Oct. 29, 2024, at a warehouse in Santolan, Barangay Toril Poblacion.
The report said the fire started around 3 p.m. and was put out by the Toril Fire Station at 3:45 p.m. One employee was reportedly injured in the incident.
The fire damaged coffee sacks, with an estimated cost of P300,000, while the cause of the is still unknown.
