A TRICYCLE driver died after a truck slammed into him along Daang Maharlika Highway in Barangay Panacan, Bunawan District at around 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26.
Police identified him as Runny Day Mangubat, 33, a resident of Panacan.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of Davao City Police Office, said Mangubat was driving the tricycle with three passengers, who were wounded by the incident.
In the investigation, it was found that the two vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the truck driver hit Magubat’s tricycle. He was ejected from the impact and hit the pavement hard. He died from severe injuries.
The truck driver was identified as Rene Jr. Porinas Davis, 43, from Ilang, who was quickly taken into police custody.
