Thousands gather peacefully in Davao City for Eid al-Adha prayers

APPROXIMATELY 7,000 Muslim faithful gathered peacefully at Freedom Park on Roxas Avenue for the centralized Eid al-Adha congregational prayer on Friday, June 6.

The significant religious observance concluded without incident, with authorities reporting a “peaceful and normal” status.

This was according to Davao City Police Office spokesperson Captain Hazel Caballero.

Police Station 2 personnel, led by Capt Narciso N. Potot Jr., officer of the day, and under the direct supervision of station commander Maj. Emmanuel D. Manlatican, provided comprehensive area security and maintained high police visibility throughout the event.

The security measures, implemented starting around 7:10 a.m., ensured the safety and orderliness of the large assembly as the Muslim community observed Eid al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice.
