Third COVID booster vaccination starts for healthcare workers, elderly

THE CITY Health Office launched the third booster dose vaccination for healthcare workers and senior citizens at People’s Park on Friday.

Dr. Paul Marvin Mañosa, the district health physician and in-charge of the People’s Park Vaccination, said the bivalent third booster dose could be availed of by those who are eligible.

Ang third booster dose nato or bivalent ginahatag nato ni siya sa atong mga A1 or atoang healthcare workers, ug para sa A2, ang atoang mga senior citizens. Sila lang ang pwede makadawat ani as long as nakadawat sila og first, second dose ug Katong duha ka booster dose (We are giving the third booster dose using the bivalent to our A1 or our health care workers, and A2, our senior citizens. They are the only ones allowed to get this as long as they were vaccinated with the first and second doses and two booster doses),” he said.

He added that A1 and A2, who want to avail of the free third booster dose, must show their healthcare worker ID for A1 and senior citizen ID or any ID showing birthdate for A2. They will be accommodated, regardless of the vaccine brand administered for their booster doses.

“As long as nakadawat sila ug four doses.. and four months sa ilahang second booster pwede na sila mahatagan sa ilahang third dose ( As long as they received four doses..and four months from their second booster they are already eligible for the third booster dose), Mañosa said.

He said that the People’s Park Vaccination hub has more than 3,900 doses of bivalent Pfizer vaccine, and they will continue with the vaccination until supplies last. The hub is open from Monday-Friday, from 8 am-3 pm.

Mañosa said that the third booster dose administration would also take place every Friday in main barangay health centers.

The People’s Park Vaccination hub remains open for vaccination of first dose to second booster dose.

We encourage everyone to avail of this booster, those who are eligible, as it adds protection for you. As of the moment, COVID cases are less serious but at least this will give added protection, especially to our senior citizens),” Mañosa said.
